recycle The Department of Community Services oversees many services that help keep the City of Gulf Breeze rated as one of Florida's model cities. The Department provides the following services: code enforcement, planning and zoning, fire inspection, solid waste, and recycling.

The Department is staffed with two full time employees and five part time employees and is organized into three areas: Code Enforcement, Planning and Zoning, and Solid Waste. These employees are responsible for the enforcement of the City's Code of Ordinances, plan reviews, inspections, oversight of the Waste Transfer Station, and the solid waste franchise agreement with BFI.
