Parks and Recreation Department
The City's total land devoted to recreation is 517 acres. Shoreline Park is the major recreation area in Gulf Breeze. This park encompasses about 155 acres and is divided into two distinct parks. Shoreline Park North consists of the Gulf Breeze Recreation Center, facilities for baseball, football, soccer, outdoor basketball, softball, Sunset Kids Park, and 8 lighted tennis courts. Shoreline Park South has over 105 acres of wooded area which extends to the edge of Santa Rosa Sound. Shoreline Park South is the most popular boat launch in the area, only seven miles from the Pensacola Pass. In the open area near the water, facilities in addition to the boat ramp include picnic tables, fishing pier, swimming area and a large gazebo. A nature trail also winds through Shoreline Park South. The remaining parks provide additional neighborhood recreational areas. Williamsburg Park is a large 3 acre open field park with a tot lot and park benches. Two additional tennis courts can be found at Highpoint Park. McClure Park is a half acre neighborhood park with a tot lot, park benches and play field. Two covered shelters with picnic tables, a tot lot, and playground equipment make up the 1.8 acre Woodland Park. A devoted Gulf Breeze Historical Society has enriched the community with historical markers found in Wayside Park. The award winning linear park is of modern design and has a public boat launch. It is landscaped with native trees and covered picnic areas with a view of Pensacola Bay. In addition to Wayside Park, the City has a unique fishing spot nearby.
