Gulf Breeze Mayor passes away - (more) Open City Council Seat - Due to the death of Mayor Gilchrist, the City Council appointed Mayor Pro Tem, Councilman Beverly Zimmern as Mayor. This creates an open City Council position, Seat A. The Council will accept letters of interest and resumes from anyone interested in serving on the City Council until Friday, July 24, 2009, 4:00 p.m. Please send your information to: City of Gulf Breeze City, Post Office Box 640, Gulf Breeze, Fl 32562-0640, Attn: Marita Rhodes, or hand deliver to Gulf Breeze City Hall, 1070 Shoreline Drive. A councilman serves a 4 year term and the salary is $1.00 per year. There are approximately 4 meetings per month and each councilman serves on additional committees in the community. Please be aware of the total time commitment required to serve on the council. In addition to the regular meeting schedule of two committee and two council meetings per month, there are numerous other boards, committees, events, etc., that you may be called on to represent the City and/or attend. These consist of the following: Development Review Board, South Santa Rosa Utility Advisory Board, Tourist Development Council, Bay Area Resource Council,NW Florida League of Cities, Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization, Fairpoint Regional Utility System Board, Regional Utility System Board, NW Florida Regional Transportation Organization, Team Santa Rosa and others. Also, there may be other special committees that become necessary from time to time. In addition to those activities listed, there are many times when council members are asked to attend events to represent the city. We appreciate your interest in being a candidate, there is no finer way to serve your city than offer to be on the council. A candidate must live within the city limits and be a registered voter. The
City Council is not limited in its selection of a new councilman to
those who have made a written expression of interest. Gulf

Each pole has a P-Tag number which is the best identifier. It is a round silver metal tag with a six diget number following the P. In addition, Gulf Power suggests using a bright color ribbon or tape to mark the power pole so their crews can easily indentify the reported light during the day.
