Pensacola Bay Bridge Repair and Rehabilitation Project

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has awarded Pneumatic Concrete Company, Inc. of Birmingham, Alabama a $3 million construction contract to repair and rehabilitate the Pensacola Bay Bridge on State Road 30 (US 98). Crews will begin staging operations the week of April 4, 2011. The 437 day contract calls for repairing spalled areas and cracks on the concrete beams and piles , replacing expansion joints, repairing or replacing anchor bolts at select locations and painting the steel girders over the channel. To decrease traffic congestion, work which will require lane closures will take place at night. There will be no eastbound lane closures between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. and westbound between 6:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. The channel will remain open to marine traffic. There will be barges located around the bridge during construction. Marine traffic is reminded to use caution when navigating through the channel. Motorists are reminded to obey the posted speed limit, watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the work zone and to keep a safe distance between your vehicle and those traveling in front of you.

Please feel free to contact Ian Satter, District Three, Public Information Director, directly at 850.415.9205 or via email at ian.satter@dot.state.fl.us for additional information regarding this project. You may also contact the FDOT Chipley office toll free at 888-638-0250 Ext. 208.

"Report an Outage" - STREETLIGHT REPAIRS AND REPORTING

Streetlights within the City are provided and maintained by Gulf Power, not the City. When a streetlight is malfunctioning or broken you can report it directly to Gulf Power.

PHONE: 800 GU POWER (800 487-6937) WEBSITE: www.gulfpower.com E-MAIL: Lightout@gulfpower.com

You should be ready to provide your name, contact information, the specific problem with the light and address of the light (as well as the P-Tag number if possible). Each pole has a “P-Tag” number which is the best identifier. It is a round silver metal tag with a six diget number following the P. In addition, Gulf Power suggests using a bright color ribbon or tape to mark the power pole so their crews can easily indentify the reported light during the day. Here is a link to the Gulf Power web site, click here.
